Individual will have good working knowledge of operation/maintenance of shop equipment.  Will apply mechanical ability in all aspects of job while performing daily routine activities.


Works closely with production department, to troubleshoot issues that come up on various equipment in food production plant.

Preventative maintenance experience required, with conveyor systems, bearings, pumps and motors, rotary dryers, gear boxes, fans and air locks and feed screens. Maintains, services, installs, repairs, and inspects production machinery and equipment in order to keep them in good working order at food manufacturing plant.



  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all Ajinomoto Plant equipment and support systems in accordance with specifications and maintenance procedures, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, chemical, water, gas, steam, and compressed air systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problem areas; always drive to root cause analysis and provide new ideas and suggestions for improved reliability of all systems. Understand downtime issues and contribute to reducing downtime throughout the plant./
  • Support the full implementation of the Computer Maintenance Management System (Big Foot) using the Work Order to system to plan, complete, and accurately and completely record all work performed.
  • Prioritize work schedule to assure personnel safety, environmental compliance, plant uptime, product quality, and cost control.
  • Support accuracy of spare parts inventory by recording use of all parts and reporting any low supply issues.
  • Assist Maintenance Coordinator with research and ordering of repair parts and supplies.
  • Follow workmanship standards to ensure high quality work in every area, whether mechanical repair, welding, wiring, etc. Always replace parts with OEM quality; do not make parts substitutions that are not form, fit, function identical without authorization from Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Support and follow all safety requirements, maintain a clean and safe work environment; always leave the job in a clean and safe manner when finished.
  • Interact with co-workers, contractors, suppliers, and other Ajinomoto Windsor employees in a respected manner, maintaining strong working relationships with all involved.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Tech; preference for food industry; general work including mechanical repairs, light electrical, plumbing, welding and fabrication all preferred.
  • Background in industrial equipment troubleshooting with an ability to rapidly and accurately get to root cause.
  • Experience using a CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) preferred.
  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general engineering drawings, blueprints, technical procedures, Operation-Maintenance Procedures.  Ability to write reports and procedural manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, clients, and Operations personnel.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Needs to be a strong team player that takes initiative, dependable, flexible in terms of work hours and work assignments.
  • Basic Computer proficiency
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and / or weekends

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
