Responsible for the direction, coordination, control, and physical progression of raw materials and packaging through the manufacturing system, into finished goods and deployment, either directly or through subordinate associates. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, organization and management of raw material and packaging purchasing, contribution to production scheduling, raw material and finished goods inventory control, warehousing operations both onsite and off, shipping, receiving and logistics of inbound and outbound transportation of materials and finished goods. These activities are in direct coordination with Corporate Supply Chain and the General Manager of your facility


  • Position will manage the Warehouse Department and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Assist in the creation and generation of weekly production schedules that align with business forecast, sales demand, and current finished goods inventory. This must be coordinated with Plant Operations to maximize schedule efficiency and labor resources.
  • Purchase and/or coordinate the acquisition of raw materials and packaging for use in production in support of production schedule demands.
  • Coordinate shipment and receiving of raw materials in a timely fashion to support production needs, maintaining an inventory balance that aligns with plant needs and working capital objectives.
  • Inventory management and control of all raw materials and packaging at locations both onsite and off. Establish and enforce operational procedures and activities to ensure adherence to Company policies and agreed upon practices.
  • Manage system inventory to ensure accuracy of raw materials, packaging and finished goods. Periodic cycle counts and physical inventories are required to maintain accuracy.
  • Issuance of all materials to production for use during the manufacturing process. The accounting and reporting of these transactions are an important function of this position.
  • Receiving of all returned materials from production at the end of the day and return them to inventory. Accounting for and reporting of these transactions is required.
  • Receiving of finished goods from production and coordinating the transfer of these goods to either inventory or shipment.
  • Coordination of transportation needs and schedule for both incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Development of deployment schedule for finished goods for shipment to outside warehouses.
  • Work with Quality Assurance on product holds to ensure held product is maintained in held inventory status until properly released by QA.
  • Working with Plant Operations and Quality Assurance to drive timely resolution of held product and rework assisting to meet our working capital objectives and optimize storage capacity.
  • Direct salvage and/or disposal of non-useable products.
  • Promote a safe working environment by providing required training to all department personnel. Actively participate in all Safety committee related matters.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers to help resolve disputes timely and professionally.
  • Participate as a full team member of the Plant Staff, which requires meeting attendance, program participation and leadership for the Plant Organization.


  • 5-10 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, preferably in a Warehouse/Materials Department role. A minimum of 3-5 years of this experience must be in a Supervisory or Management position.
  • Bachelor's degree or above is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and activities.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office tools as well as prior MRP or equivalent systems experience. Proficiency in JD Edwards a plus.
  • Leadership skills are a must as this position must effectively manage multiple resources across multiple functions. Also acts as a key team member of the plant staff, providing leadership within the entire plant organization.
  • Must be willing to travel as business needs dictate. While travel is not expected to be extensive (10%), it is important to be able to network within the organization and participate in key functional meetings and summits organized for the advancement of our business.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers to handle and feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to fluently speak, read and write in English. Lifting of 10-30 pounds would be an occasional requirement.
